A church in the old mill district

You are welcome
here, exactly as
you arrive.

We are an ordinary congregation of about ninety people. We read the Bible together, we sing, we pray, and we eat afterwards. If you have never been to a church before, come and sit at the back — nobody will ask you to stand up.

A word before you come

We would rather be known than impressive.

Riverstone has met on this street for forty-one years. We have no band, no coffee bar and no strategy document. What we do have is a room where the same people turn up week after week, know each other's names, and have learned to carry each other's difficulties.

If you are looking for a church, the honest advice is to come three times before you decide. One Sunday tells you very little about a congregation, and almost nothing about whether you belong in it.

Who leads

The people you would meet

Nobody here is full-time except the pastor, and the photographs on a real site would be of these people rather than of a stock congregation.

Giving

Supporting the work here

Giving pays the building, the heating and one part-time salary. Our accounts are read out at the annual meeting and posted here afterwards. Nobody is ever asked to give at the door.
