We came to plant churches and found them already planted.

Before

Both of us taught in a secondary school in Bristol. Neither of us had been further east than Greece.

The call, such as it was

No vision and no voice. A visiting Thai pastor said his villages had churches and nobody who could read well enough to teach in them, and we could not stop thinking about it.

Getting there

Two years of raising support, which took longer than we expected and taught us more than the training did.

The first year

We were useless. We could not speak, we could not cook, and we misread almost every social situation we were in.

Now

We are useful at one specific thing, which is more than we expected and less than we hoped.
