Open to everyone in the neighbourhood
Northgate is a small community trust on the north side of town. We cook, we sit with children over their homework, we hand out food parcels, and on Sunday afternoons we meet to worship. You do not need to belong to anything to come to any of it.
The week ahead
The same every week during term. Anything cancelled is announced here first, and on the door.
What we do
A cooked meal every Monday. No booking, no questions, no charge. Usually about forty people.
Volunteers sit with children aged 7–14 who have nowhere quiet to work.
Thursday mornings. Referrals welcome, and you can also just turn up.
Friday evenings for 11–16s. Games, food, and someone to talk to.
A short service at four, then tea. Children stay in.
We visit anyone in the neighbourhood who would like a visit.
Help out
Most of what happens here is done by about twenty people who each give two hours a week. If that is you, send a message — someone will reply the same week.
Two hours on a Monday. You do not need to be a cook.
Wednesdays. We will do the safeguarding checks with you.
A list of what we are short of this week is on the door.
All of it goes to the programmes. The accounts are on this site.
Giving
We have no paid staff. Giving pays for food, heating and the minibus. The annual accounts are published on this site each spring, and anyone can ask to see the detail.
